After making waves at CES 2010 for its promise to provide a virtually endless supply of data storage to game consoles, Infinitec’s Infinite USB Memory Drive (IUM) fell off the radar as the company finalized their manufacturing and distribution plans. Now, several months later, the Dubai-based company has announced that the IUM’s time has finally arrived, and starting today consumers can pre-order the system on their official website, with orders expected to ship on August 31.
This was the first live shoot for demoing the IUM. It was put together with free software (the startup way) and published on YouTube.
It was a very difficult shoot as lots of dialog to remember in each take and I am no good reading from que cards. This was also the first time we had streaming speeds fast enough for playing Full HD so I was very excited to show the world.
During my time at Infinitec, we worked hard at getting press attention for the launch of our first product, the Infinite USB Memory Drive or IUM Drive. One of the online technology news shows, GeekBrief TV, picked up our story from the press release (and article in Engadget) and featured it on their show.
Thanks to Cali Lewis and the team for the coverage.
GeekBrief has since ended and relaunched as GeekBeat TV (http://www.geekbeat.tv)
